is next to the village cricket field, in the hamlet of Calver,
which is situated upon the river Derwent, in the heart of the Peak
District National Park.
An ideal base for walking, sightseeing, cycling, and rock climbing.
Valley View is conveniently situated for the 'Outside' shop. The village is the start of many fine walks. Walkers to the area will find the stunning scenery from Curbar and Froggatt edge breathtaking. The village hosts 3 pubs, (Bridge Inn, Eyre Arms and Derwentwater Arms) where evening meals are available, also Derbyshire Craft Centre, Petrol station, Spa Shop, Garden Centres and a Post Office. Chatsworth House, Park, and Farm shop are approximately 4 miles away. Rowsley (7 miles) with the new shopping complex and visit Cauldwell's Mill. The bustling market town of Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell Puddings, is 5 miles away and Haddon Hall, is only a short distance away.
In the historic village of Eyam (2 miles), where, during 1665, the plague
came to from London in a box of cloth, visit Eyam
Hall. Other pretty Peakland villages including, Alport, Milldale, Hartington and Bonsall are easily accessible.
The Peak District
is 555 square miles with 1,600 miles of footpaths, and most of it can
be easily be accessed form Calver, including the Staffordshire moorlands
home to the pretty village of Longnor and interesting rock formations
of The Roaches, the High Peak areas like Edale, Mam Tor and Castleton
and the beautiful Goyt Valley above Buxton.
